Today we’re shooting two LinkedIn headshots in NYC for two...

Today we’re shooting two LinkedIn headshots in NYC for two corporate women from Manhattan. Now let’s go through this upcoming LinkedIn headshot session, step by step. https://goo.gl/gJYTH6 This is going to be a one light LinkedIn profile image shoot for both of these female business executives. I have done LinkedIn headshot photography in NYC for years, and it’s success hangs on getting the right person to be the talent, and to make the final image feel open and inviting. The LinkedIn headshot represents the face of the company. This is the person that you’re going to be talking to when you call in to corporate headquarters. Here’s a couple of things to know when preparing the studio and client for a LinkedIn profile image. https://goo.gl/aAEHQd If you’re using an employee, CEO or CFO from the company, it’s very critical that you go over these procedures and poses with them. When using a paid talent, it’s still pretty important to go over these things, because they may not know what the implications may be. Number one. Bring, or have them bring, several options for their clothing. Number two. Make sure all their clothing is pressed and clean. Number three. Make sure they’re well-groomed from head to toe. If the client has the funds it may not be a bad idea to hire a professional makeup artist on standby. https://goo.gl/IuGXzx Our team of professional headshot photographers can only do so much with lighting, poses and angles. Number four. If you’re shooting NYC LinkedIn headshots for men, some companies like beards and that’s great. Just make a conscious decision with the client about the beard and its length. The beard should be neat and trimmed cleanly. Don’t just fall into it. Number five. Have them bring all personal grooming supplies.Their razors, their toothbrush, anything they need, male or female, to be able to groom themselves if they need to on set. The following are some hints to help you make sure the person is prepared, so that things go smoothly the day of the shoot. This type of shot demands a few things from your headshot client. Number one. They need to look right into the camera. That’s critical. Number two. They need to have a comfortable smile. If they feel comfortable, then the viewer will feel comfortable looking at their Linkedin profile picture. Number three. To accomplish this, as you direct them, ask them questions.Talk about their life. Talk about their kids and common interests. Get a dialogue going with your customer,so that as you talk, they’re going to feel more and more confident and relaxed, and you can start taking pictures in that process. You’ll find you’ll kind of move yourself into a very easy, comfortable look. Number four. Tell them how well they’re doing, even if they’re not doing very well. You have to keep telling them how great it’s going and how wonderful it is. Just keep reinforcing your subject. As you do that, the client’s going to feel more and more comfortable, and the finished portrait image will look that much better. Those are just a few tips on directing your talent. Let’s get to how Kristen Jensen Productions lights a headshot setup. https://goo.gl/zm681t We have two different places in this image. We’ve got the person up front, and then we’ve got the group of professional assistants in the background. The people in the background will be lit by the studio window light, and also the artificial light overhead. I’m going to expose for them, and a correct exposure for them will become the basis for my LinkedIn headshot. That’s why you should only consider using the best LinkedIn headshot photographer in NYC for your professional photo shoot. The background looks great, but my first lady is way underexposed and really doesn’t work up front. If I open up enough to expose her correctly, the people in the background are going to be overexposed. I’m going to add some soft lighting, a Photoflex Small OctoDome from camera left on a Dynalite head and pack to mimic that window light. https://goo.gl/8niZqV It’s an OctoDome with a grid that gives me nice control, because it keeps the light really pooled on her beautiful face. I did struggle with seeing the reflection of the camera and myself in the window, and had to put up blacks so it’d get rid of the camera reflection in that window. https://goo.gl/ApnbAi Our team spent a lot of time organizing the people in the background so it looked busy, but not cluttered. Backgrounds are just as important as foregrounds, so don’t throw them away. https://goo.gl/H42LHx Thank you for considering Kristen Jensen Productions, LLC for your professional LinkedIn headshots NYC. https://goo.gl/H5ubJC Kristen Jensen Productions, LLC NYC LinkedIn Headshot Photographer New York, NY 10022 40.70862 -74.00045 https://goo.gl/9tlCSH Professional LinkedIn photo NYC #linkedinheadshotsnyc
